Two suppliers can quote very different prices for products that look the same. Before choosing, make sure you are comparing the same materials, quantities and packaging.

A useful comparison puts the important details in one place, so you can see what each quote includes and what still needs confirmation.

Compare the same specification

Start with size, material, finish and construction. Ask each supplier to quote against the same written specification and keep a sample reference.

Buyer’s tip

A lower price is only useful when the product meets the same requirements.

Check MOQ and lead time

Record the minimum order quantity and production lead time next to each price. Confirm whether the lead time starts after the deposit or after sample approval.

Supplier B¥8.20500 sets20 days
Supplier C¥8.80200 sets12 days

Confirm packaging

Ask what is included in the quoted price: individual protection, retail boxes, inner cartons and export cartons. A quote for bulk packing is different from a quote for shelf-ready goods.

  • Confirm units per carton and carton dimensions.
  • Agree on box material, protective inserts and shipping marks.
  • Request a photo of the finished packaging before production.

Understand the total cost

Compare the cost of getting the goods ready to ship, as well as the product itself. Custom packaging, local delivery, inspection and handling can change which offer gives you the best value.

Make the comparison fair

Ask all suppliers to quote in the same currency, for the same quantity and on the same delivery terms.

Keep a clear comparison

Save the supplier’s booth number, contact details, sample photos and written quote together. Add a column for unanswered questions, then confirm those points before placing an order.

The best quote is the one you can understand and verify. A clear record helps you make a confident decision and gives your sourcing team something concrete to follow up.
