Opening Hours & When to Visit

Plan around market days and supplier availability.

Suggested buying-visit window: 9:00–17:00

Use this as a planning window, not a guaranteed opening schedule. Individual booths may open later or close earlier; confirm appointments with your suppliers.

  • Spring Festival · 2027

    Estimated closure: 6–12 February 2027

The market usually closes for about a week from Chinese New Year, and many booths close several days earlier. Factories and logistics often pause for a week either side. Avoid this period, and confirm closure and reopening dates with your suppliers before booking.

  • Weekends & public holidays

Most booths open on weekends and public holidays, except during the Spring Festival closure. Book ahead if you need to meet a specific supplier.

Planning tip

Start priority supplier meetings in the morning. Leave the afternoon for comparing samples, recording quotes and revisiting your shortlist.

Route details & booking links

High-speed trains to Yiwu take about 30–40 minutes from Hangzhou East and about 1.5–2.5 hours from Shanghai Hongqiao, depending on the service. Allow extra time for the airport-to-station transfer, and book seats ahead in peak season.

Yiwu Airport has few international routes, so most buyers arrive through Shanghai or Hangzhou. See Visa & Entry below for port visas and visa-free transit.

Before you travel

Visa & Entry Check the rules for your passport and travel itinerary.

Entry requirements depend on your nationality, your itinerary and how long you stay, and they change without much notice. Check the official guidance for your country before you book anything.

Since July 2026, Yiwu Airport has issued port visas on arrival for urgent business trips. These must be arranged in advance through an inviting company in China, so contact us before you fly.

240-hour visa-free transit also applies at Yiwu Airport for eligible passports traveling on to a third country.

Tell us your travel dates and we can prepare an invitation letter and supporting documents, including for a port visa where your trip qualifies.

Discuss Your Buying Plan

A smoother way to source from Yiwu

Buying independently

For buyers managing their own sourcing

  • Language differences can make prices, MOQs, specifications and customization harder to confirm clearly.
  • Yiwu Market is large, and finding the right districts, floors and booths can take a lot of time.
  • Comparing products across different suppliers means keeping track of prices, materials, samples and booth information yourself.
  • After a full day in the market, photos, business cards, quotations and notes can quickly become difficult to organize.
  • Orders from different booths often come with different payment terms, production times and delivery dates.
  • Goods from different suppliers may arrive at different times and need to be received, checked and consolidated before shipping.

With local support

For buyers who want help on the ground

  • A local guide or interpreter can help communicate product requirements, prices and order terms with suppliers.
  • Someone familiar with Yiwu Market can help you identify the right districts, floors and product areas more efficiently.
  • Supplier information, quotations and product details can be recorded more systematically as you visit different booths.
  • A local sourcing team can help keep samples, quotations and supplier follow-ups organized after the market visit.
  • Orders from multiple suppliers can be coordinated through one point of contact, making production and delivery easier to manage.
  • Receiving, inspection, consolidation and shipping can be handled locally before the goods are sent to you.
